2018 CQ WW VHF results

Whoa!
I just noticed that my 28,014 points moved the NMVHFS
from what would've been 4th place up to 2nd place!
Little Ol' me -- old school!

Happy New Year to you all!!

Two NMVHF rovers finished 2nd (W3DHJ) and 4th (KK6MC) overall.  They even beat K2EZ's 15-grid effort on the east coast where so much contest activity occurs.  It took a zero-sleep, 10-grid marathon by AC0RA/KG5CCI to break the CQ-VHF rover record and claim the top spot.

Ah, shucks, fellas!

I only wish I would have an easier time of it working you NM Ops on 6M,
2M -- even 432mcs. But, that Raton divide, the mountains N.E. of Santa
Fe, and even the Sandias make it rough for the propagation into the S.E.
Colorado 4-corner "confluence" of DM87, DM88, DM77, and DM78.

But, it does happen from time-to-time.

And I get goosebumps each time it happens. :-)

Yup, a few thousand feet of granite betwixt does not help. Yet, I think that timing could make it work (as you referenced). Aiming SSW and NNE simultaneously with a bit of pre-planning, perhaps.
