What are people's plans for September VHF contest?
James Duffey
With only three members on the mailing list, this may be premature, but what plans do members have for the upcoming September VHF Contest, beginning September 9? I will rove again, but my itinerary is not set.
Here are the rules: < http://www.arrl.org/september-vhf > The biggest change in the rules for this year is the contracted log submission date. Logs are now due 10 days after the contest ends, rather than 4 weeks. I will send in a list of eligible members for the contest on the 8th. I will add the new NMVHF Society members we gained since the list I submitted for the 222+ contest. I will resend this as the list grows, but this looks a good start. - KK6MC James Duffey Cedar Crest, NM jamesduffey@... |

It's working. Maybe a few folks replied accepting invite. My HONDA 2000i started after about 10 pulls. I had not been started since maybe Nov. Ran smooth for 10 minutes on the old gas. The STA-BILT must have done its job, though after adding it to fuel tank months ago I ran it for a good 15 minutes. Lesson learned. So are we OK going public with the list?

Yes, it is fine with me. I don’t see any problems with it, except perhaps with the 1GHz storage limit, but if we can move stuff to the web site, I don’t see that as a limit. Also, there appears to be little of no opportunity for privacy invasion and there isn’t a bigger entity to join, so I don’t think that will be an issue for those who don’t like Yahoo or Google groups for instance. So, I say pull the trigger. - DUffey KK6MC

It seems to be working OK. Was it just a reply to invite email or was the word ACCEPT I entered the key? I believe the former. From: "Mike H" <mph@...> To: nmvhf@groups.io Sent: Friday, September 1, 2017 9:22:22 PM Subject: Re: [nmvhf] What are people's plans for September VHF contest? |

Just signed up for the mail reflector.
I will not be seriously working the contest but will be available on 6 & 2 to help others. I will probably hit meteor scatter hard Sunday morning, looking for new 2M grids. However, I had to tilt the 6/2 tower over this morning to troubleshoot a VSWR problem on 2M. I don't foresee any problem fixing it, so it should be back in operation by the weekend. Anybody roving up this way ? If you're going to be close enough and serious enough, I can set the rover station up for 222 through 1296 and park it next to the shack. if anybody in NMVHFS wants to set up a sked beforehand, please email me. -W9RM |

Hi Steve, Unfortunately I had to take care of a sick friend in CA. Thats where i am now. Would much rather work the contest but this was more important. Hope you do well, and hope to see you on the air for another one. Bill W7QQ On Sep 4, 2017 11:02 AM, "Steve Hutcherson via Groups.Io" <Wb5cts=yahoo.com@groups.io> wrote:

So, who's going to be where this weekend ?
I got my 2M feedline issue worked out (found out I had probably 5-6 dB loss in a 60' length of 7/8" Heliax - probably been this way for a while) so I will be looking to give out a new grid on the two lower bands. I'm not going to sit around listening to noise for the whole weekend so I want to try and be on when there is someone to work ! -W9RM Keith J Morehouse Managing Partner Calmesa Partners G.P.
