Re: Elecraft K4 Transceiver Officially Announced
Thanks Jon!
I’ll be asking questions at the Elecraft booth tomorrow. Any of you have questions to be answered? I’ll post prices when available. When the site was up, they would take money down,

Also, this might be a better option. I have a feeling these guys "did it right" as it were.

Re: Elecraft K4 Transceiver Officially Announced
I guess the Elecraft webpage release was premature.
The Lutz Electronics website has posted a K4 brochure.

Link disappeared as I was viewing the K4 specs. I bet it will be back tomorrow.
Cheers from Dayton, Ohio.

Good observation Bob. Freq stability and precision are pretty important, and easy to achieve. The technology took giant leaps during the development cycle of the 9700 and I wonder if Icom just got

For those of you willing to take the plunge, the price dropped to a little under $1900 today (DXE, GigaParts, etc.).

Re: Icom 9700?
I'd read up on the moon-net list about this one. The big themes have been that Icom completely missed the mark on the 10MHz input on back (used only to do manual calibrations), it drifts in digital

Icom 9700?
With Dayton discounts sure to come in the next day or two, I’ve been wondering about the IC9700. In its short life, has it had a good reputation among the VHF/UHF gang?

K5XE?
Anyone know Richard, K5XE? There’s a nice article about him in this morning’s ABQ Journal. He became a SK in 2018 and donated his body to UNM’s medical education program.

Re: Question: foliage, vhf

Re: Question: foliage, vhf
Interesting to note that W7GJ has carved out a patch of Montana forest for his VHF aluminum:

Lots of foliage there.
