No HF here. I monitored 50.130 for most of the day as I did work around the house. I had a single ssb QSO with NM5WB in Rio Rancho. He called CQ on that frequency about once per hour without

Did any of you try the NM QSO Party this weekend? Was there any activity at all on 6 meters? Did you dip into the HF waters?

Weather for NM QSO PArty
Snowing a bit here but not bad and some ice. If weather gets worse as we travel north, I will change my route and go south, so my route may change from what I published. Look at APRS.fi for my

AA5B in NMQP, and call to action!
I'll probably be operating at home, but I'm still toying with the idea of driving west to activate San Juan, Catron, and other rare-ish counties.
I'd love to see NMVHFS make an effort to win this

Ken, KG5IDN, and I will also be roving in his Cool Bus. Ken has improved his antennas substantially and we are looking to make many Q’s on 40 & 20. Please keep your ears out for us. No six meters

6M SSB most certainly WILL work very well within the state and four corners area and CW even better. Ground wave and ionoscatter are good modes for a pair of well equipped stations. Unfortunately,

Do most of the people in nmvhfs have no capability for the HF bands? On 6 meters, ssb and cw won't work out to a few hundred miles in these condx? Would it have been good to include the 144 and 432

I also would like to voice my take on the exchange. It looks like it is only for voice and cw. No digital (ft8) allowed. I guess no need to waste time on 6 meter FT8 almost the only mode that works

My take on this thread is that there is no need for me to waste my time looking west on 6 meters for my remaining WANMG grids on MSK144 or FT8 this coming weekend.

Am I reading the rules correctly? It looks like a name plus a county, state, or country are required for the exchange. If so, this is going to cause problems with FT8. A 13-character

TOWER SAFETY
Another experienced ham dies from a tower fall - PV8ADI ! That's two high profile deaths in 6 months (W0AIH was the other). I heard about this today and offered this to my 'other' club group. I
